History
  • Founded in 1948 by 28 individuals
  • Volunteer organization until 1964 when it had 3,152 members, and 5 staff members headquartered in Ohio
  • 1984 moved to Alexandria VA. With 39 staff serving 35,000 members
  • Today under President and CEO Susan R. Meisinger with a staff of 200+ and 20 specialized departments
